Electronic Meliponini Advanced System (EMAS) is an application based on an Android system which runs on recent updated SDK Versions and above to assist stingless-bee farmers in recording information on the important aspects of stingless-bee keeping such as hive health, security, and hive produce on smart devices. In the invention, all information related to the hive is recorded and transferred to a real-time database. EMAS fetches all the information from the database and represents it on page forms, tables, and graphs. There are to main data entries modes. The first one is from the users or the manual mode. The second mode is from the user and from the Electronic hardware system which is IoT enabled. IoT data collection involves the use of sensors to track the performance of the hives connected to the Internet of Things. The sensors track the status of the IoT network by collecting and transmitting real-time data that is stored and retrieved at any moment in time.Main Features of EMAS◆ An interactive graphical user interface (GUI) for user experience.◆ Shows the information on the hives such as the location, honey weight, inside and outside temperatures and humidity, estimated time taken to harvest, and history.◆ Integrated data management where the user can edit or delete the hive profile information.◆ Represents all harvest data on interactive graphs.◆ Centralized database for the hive information.◆ Provides interpretation of alert for harvesting time.◆ Registered users’ details are securely stored in the database with their hives data. ◆The dashboard is where overall hive data are shown. Most of the information is represented on graphs for better data visualization.◆Hive profile picture for hive identification◆Colony Progress: Note of observations/comments for your bee farm.◆ The Hive details represents the list of registered hives with summarized information where a new hive can be added to the list with entry options. By clicking on one of the registered hives, detailed information such as the location, hive ID, honey weight, date added, outside and inside temperature and humidity of the hive, and so on will be shown. ◆The Harvest History tab enables the harvester’s name, period of harvest, honey collected, date and other important data to be recorded every harvesting process.◆ For IoT data and system users, the main hardware setup comprises of NodeMCU ESP8266 as a controller. NodeMCU is also an open-source firmware and development kit that helps you to prototype your IoT(Internet of Things) product within a few LUA script lines. Moreover, NodeMCU has the added advantages of low cost, integrated support for WiFi networks, a small board size, and low energy consumption. The alert system can be enabled with the integrated IoT system, which can be divided into five different sections as follows (but not limited to): 1) Anti-Theft SystemFour units of strain-gauge load-cell sensors are integrated with HX711 modules installed at each edge under the topping for weight measurement. The system will notify the user if there is a burglary in progress based on the weight threshold value of the topping weight.2) Fungus AlertThe system will notify the user if there is a chance of fungus growth based on humidity and temperature data.3) Outside TemperatureTwo DHT22 sensor units are installed to measure the inside and outside temperatures and the humidity of the beehive. The system will notify the user if there is a constant increase of temperature, which can negatively affect honey production.4) Outside HumidityThe system will notify the user if there is constant high humidity, which can possibly affect the habitat of the stingless-bee.5) Harvesting time estimation. The system will estimate the total amount of time to harvest the honey based on the real-time honey weight data.6) Bee countsThe system will estimate the total amount of bees going out and coming back to the hive by using IR sensors system.
